Flashback Friday--West Side Story

http://christis-blahblahblog.blogspot.com

I don't know that I'll ever forget the first time I saw this musical performed. It was the weekend I turned 13, and I fell in love with the story, the music....all of it! I actually could have had an opportunity to perform in a production of it at The McCallie School when I was in high school, but didn't have the nerve or time to get into it. I developed a crush on the boy who played Bernardo in that first production I saw and possibly stalked him on a small level looking back! I was so mortified to find out that he shoveled our driveway the next weekend...while I was in bed with the flu! Oh, the 13 year old HORROR! I could go on with my freshman college roomie's 'psycho' (totally my opinion) boyfriend-->husband-->ex-husband--->accused drug dealer and how
he destroyed my video of the movie once when they were in a fight....many many memories associated here!

This scene, in case you don't know the story, comes around the time of the council meeting between the Sharks and the Jets, where they will decide what weapons they will use in the rumble. Officer Krumpke was always on their backs...and this is what ensued....

OK, now, ya'll....I'm up way past my bedtime in order to get this out tonight so I don't try to rush to do it tomorrow in the a.m., and therefore be late to school! So help me out and JOIN IN! Tell your friends! Tell them you will hurt them if they don't! No, don't do that, but do you know how happy it would make me to see new participants?! VERY happy!!

Don't forget to sign the Mr. Linky, too, so we can come see your thoughts!

You girls don't know what you're missing. WSS is one of my all-time favorites - at one point, I could do all the dance moves! Definitely tops in my book!

Mine's not so much of a flashback as much as a feeling today. Thanks for hosting!
